From the team that brought you LibX, libFX ( http://libfx.lib.vt.edu/ ) is a unique, open source application to encourage usage of your library's resources. This presentation demonstrates how to implement real-time visualization of what your users are clicking on in your discovery layer. From a Twitter-like display of citations, to speed gauges that allow you and your users to see, at a glance, what activity is currently happening, the presenters will show the impact of applying visualizations that update at the moment users are using library resources. The example discovery system will be Summon, however, the presenters will also discuss what is necessary to implement visualization of usage of other discovery layers.
